Flamingo Dating events are designed to be relaxed, welcoming spaces where single people can meet and connect in person.
By attending a Flamingo Dating event, you agree to treat other attendees, Flamingo Dating hosts and representatives, and venue staff with respect, and to follow this Code of Conduct alongside our Terms & Conditions and any reasonable venue rules.
1. Respect and Personal Boundaries
Treat everyone respectfully, regardless of whether you are romantically interested in them.
Respect personal space and boundaries. Someone choosing to talk to you does not automatically mean they are romantically or sexually interested in you.
If someone asks you to stop, move away, leave them alone or otherwise makes it clear that they do not want to continue an interaction, respect that decision.
Do not repeatedly approach or pursue someone who has made it clear that they are not interested.
2. Romantic and Physical Contact
Flirting and romantic interest are completely normal at a singles event, but they should always be mutual.
Do not:
-
make unwanted physical or sexual contact;
-
pressure someone into romantic or physical contact;
-
make persistent sexual comments or advances after someone has shown they are uncomfortable or uninterested; or
-
treat attendance at a singles event as consent to romantic or sexual attention.
If you are unsure whether someone is comfortable, give them space and ask rather than assume.
3. Contact Details, Dates and Rejection
If you connect with someone, feel free to ask whether they would like to exchange phone numbers, social-media details or arrange a date.
Nobody is under any obligation to provide their contact details or continue an interaction.
If someone declines, accept their answer respectfully and move on. Do not pressure them, demand an explanation or continue pursuing them.
Likewise, you are free to end a conversation at any time.
No attendee owes another person their time, attention, contact details or romantic interest.
4. Harassment and Inappropriate Behaviour
Harassment, intimidation, threatening behaviour, discrimination, aggression or seriously inappropriate behaviour is not accepted at Flamingo Dating events.
This may include:
-
unwanted or persistent sexual attention;
-
unwanted physical contact;
-
aggressive or threatening behaviour;
-
discriminatory or abusive comments;
-
bullying or humiliation;
-
repeatedly ignoring someone’s boundaries;
-
deliberately following or cornering another attendee;
-
retaliation against someone for raising a concern; or
-
other behaviour that reasonably creates a safety or welfare concern.
This list is not exhaustive.
5. Alcohol, Venue Rules and Event Eligibility
If you choose to drink alcohol, you remain responsible for your behaviour. Intoxication does not excuse harassment, aggression or inappropriate conduct.
Flamingo Dating or venue staff may refuse entry or ask someone to leave where their behaviour or level of intoxication creates a safety, welfare or disruption concern.
You must also comply with the clearly advertised eligibility requirements for the event you are attending, including any age range, minimum age or requirement that the event is for singles.
Please follow reasonable instructions from Flamingo Dating hosts, venue staff or security.
6. Reporting a Concern
If another attendee makes you uncomfortable, behaves inappropriately or you are concerned about someone’s welfare, please speak to a Flamingo Dating host or member of venue staff where possible.
You do not need to confront the other person yourself.
Concerns can also be reported after an event by emailing:
andreas@flamingodating.co.uk
Please provide as much relevant information as you reasonably can.
A complaint does not automatically result in a ban. We will consider the available information, the seriousness of the reported behaviour, relevant safety concerns and any relevant pattern of previous behaviour.
7. Breaches of This Code
Where Flamingo Dating reasonably believes this Code of Conduct has been breached, we may take action appropriate to the circumstances.
Depending on the seriousness of the behaviour, this may include:
-
a warning;
-
refusal of entry;
-
removal from an event;
-
temporary restrictions on attending future events; or
-
a ban from future Flamingo Dating events.
